In this project, we aim to explain why certain polyamines exhibit varying activity depending on the length of their chains. Understanding this phenomenon is crucial before antimicrobial polymers can be effectively used as antibiotics or in products such as antibacterial packaging or advanced wound dressing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the project, the PhD student will be responsible for synthesis of new monomers and polymers, as well as evaluating their biological activity. A key aspect will be understanding the mechanism behind the strong correlation between the polymer\u2019s molecular weight and its biological activity. In this work, we plan to use various techniques related to bacterial cell imaging and polymer labeling using fluorescent tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel free to contact us to learn more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>dominik.janczewski@pw.edu.pl<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/biomat.ch.pw.edu.pl\">https:\/\/biomat.ch.pw.edu.pl<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**Requirements:**<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Completed master\u2019s degree in chemistry, chemical technology, biotechnology, materials engineering, or a related field by no later than September 15, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Strong motivation for work and a scientific career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Proficiency in English sufficient to utilize specialized literature and write scientific texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Completed the recruitment process for the doctoral school at Warsaw University of Technology by no later than October 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Proficiency in organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, and\/or biophysical research of lipid bilayer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**We Offer:**<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Work in an interdisciplinary team of enthusiasts, saving humanity from antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and attractive scholarship under the PW doctoral school [PW Doctoral School](https:\/\/sd.pw.edu.pl\/) top up with a grant scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**Selection Process:**<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Evaluation based on submitted documents (by July 21, 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Interview with selected candidates (by July 26, 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Qualification for the doctoral school (August \u2013 September 2026), only one candidate participates in the third stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.
