**Call for Applications for a Doctoral Scholarship in a project founded by National Science Centre Poland**
**Controlled Post-Polymerization Modification Method and Its Application in Producing Polymer Agents That Disrupt Cell Wall Structure (ConPPM)**
Chemical modification of polymers after the polymerization stage (post-polymerization modification, PPM) is an important tool that allows changes in the macromolecular structure. These changes are typically unattainable by other methods. In the ConPPM project, we are developing new polymer modification techniques (PPM) and striving to understand the reactivity mechanisms of adjacent centers located along the polymer chain. This will enable the development of methods to conduct the PPM process in a controlled manner, allowing for the production of precisely defined polymer product architectures. An additional task of the project is to verify the suitability of the obtained materials for selected biomedical applications (with particular emphasis on antibacterial properties), where well-defined molecular architecture is a key parameter responsible for biological activity. **Requirements:**
– Completed master’s degree in chemistry, chemical technology, biotechnology, materials engineering, or a related field by no later than September 15, 2024.
– Strong motivation for work and a scientific career.
– Proficiency in English sufficient to utilize specialized literature and write scientific texts.
– Completed the recruitment process for the doctoral school at Warsaw University of Technology by no later than October 1, 2024.
– Interest in topics such as organic synthesis, polymer chemistry, or membrane biochemistry will be additional advantages.

**Selection Process:**
1. Evaluation based on submitted documents (by August 15, 2024).
2. Interview with selected candidates (by August 16, 2024).
3. Qualification for the doctoral school (August – September 2024), only one candidate participates in the third stage.
4. Research work start date: October 2024.
**Required Documents:**
1. Cover letter, scientific CV with a list of publications (including the statement: “I consent to the processing of my personal data necessary for the recruitment process in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).”);
2. Copy of the undergraduate degree diploma;
3. List of courses completed during studies with grades;
4. Contact details of a person who could provide a reference (e.g., master’s thesis supervisor).
